15yo David Kohlstaedt achieves Top 10 in Roland Sands Super Hoolidan AMA National Championship Serie

15YO DAVID KOHLSTAEDT MAKES IT INTO THE TOP 10 POINTS LEADERS FOR THE ROLAND SANDS SUPER HOOLIGAN AMA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

Steve Huff Motorsports Super Hooligan Team made their second appearance in the Roland Sands Super Hooligan race in Perris, CA last weekend as part of the American Flat Track Association Vance & Hines So-Cal Half Mile event capturing enough points to put the team in the top 10 for the AMA Championship Super Hooligan Series.

Team rider and rising star, 15 year old David Kohlstaedt raced in events Friday and Saturday on the Destination Harley-Davidson XG750.

After taking the podium for 3rd in the SCFTA Hooligan Main on Friday night., David set the 2nd fastest lap time of the day on Saturday while also securing a front row placement in the mains with a 3rd place finish in his heat.

Out of 28 competitors David made it to the mains for the Saturday night Super Hooligan. From the front row inside position, David lost a bit of ground on the very unforgiving ½ mile dirt track where the best line seemed to be on the outside.  As the first 2 motorcycles in the pack checked out, David battled for 4th place for 9 of the 10 lap race, but it was hard fought and the last lap fell to 9th for the finish.  Veteran Joe Kopp took top honors on his 50th birthday sitting on an XG750 from Latus Harley-Davidson.

It’s unfortunate that Steve Huff was unable to make the trip and finish the Destination Harley-Davidson XL1200 build that was planned for this event.  Steve suffered a serious motorcycle accident just 2 weeks prior to the event and lost 8 days of shop time on the motorcycle that could have given David the horsepower needed to secure the podium.

The American Flat Track and Super Hooligan mains were streamed live and posted on FansChoice.TV and will be aired on NBCSN.  Look for David’s interview with “On the Edge” on MAVTV from the race track.
