News Release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - January 26, 2016

Steve Huff Motorsports with their Destination Harley Davidson Buell XBRR, 11-time record setting open motorcycle, will be featured as part of the Southern California Timing Association’s (SCTA) “Quest for Speed” pavilion highlighting Land Speed Racing vehicles.

(Seattle, WA) – January 26, 2016 –Steve Huff Motorsports took the modified Destination Harley Davidson Buell XBRR, named “Dark Matter”, to the limits during the 2015 race season, setting a record at 202.8mph in the September 2015 Runway Racing LLC event at Mojave Air & Spaceport, making it the fastest 80ci push rod motorcycle in the world.

Steve Huff has a long history with the Grand National Roadster Show. In 1997, Steve built a custom hand formed, one-off, all steel, V-Twin motorcycle, titled “The Wet One”. This motorcycle won every show it entered including the Portland Roadster Show, Seattle Roadster Show, Sacramento Roadster Show, Easy Rider Motorcycle Show, and then on the largest of them all, the Oakland Roadster Show (now called the Grand National Roadster Show. It was at the Grand National Roadster show in 1998 that “The Wet One” took the 1st Place Pro-Street Custom trophy.

“The 1st Place Trophy from the Grand National Roadster Show is front and center in my trophy case and means more than the rest of them combined. When you win Oakland, you know you’ve done something special.” Says Steve Huff.

The Wet One is one of the most recognizable and iconic motorcycles ever built, featured in VQ Magazine and named by VQ Magazine as one of the 50 greatest motorcycles ever built.

In 2016 Steve Huff Motorsports will race 2 vehicles including “Dark Matter” and the 2007 Destination Harley Davidson V-Rod Destroyer, named “Dark Energy”, that currently holds the title of the fastest production H-D in the world. Steve Huff Motorsports is currently in production modifying “Dark Energy” with the intent to take the current 1350 APS-G open motorcycle record of 219.978mph. Our target is 227mph on gas and 242mph with nitrous.

“It’s an honor to be chosen to represent the SCTA at the Grand National Roadster Show and share this with Destination Harley Davidson and all of 2015 Sponsors.” Steve was hesitant to wash off the sacred El Mirage Dirt and Bonneville Salt, but he now admits, “The bike looks really nice clean, we should wash it more.”

The 67th Annual Grand National Roadster Show will be held at the Fairplex in Pomona, CA: January 29-31st, 2016.
